A place at The Children's Trust School

Children and young people are usually referred to The Children's Trust School as their needs cannot be met or supported within a mainstream school. Some children referred may already be within a special school setting but their needs may have changed and alternative provision is being sought where on-site integrated education, health, therapy and case is required. It is highly likely that children and young people are operating below their chronological age. All children and young people referred to us have or are in the process of acquiring a Statement of Special Educational Needs or have an Education, Health and Care Plan.

Children and young people placed with us residentially will become 'looked after'. This is known as a 'Section 20' and ensures that these children and young people have an independent person reviewing services and advocating for them. This person is called an 'independent reviewing officer'. This does not remove parental rights/responsibilities and we would be happy to discuss this further with you. If you think that we may be an appropriate place for your child, whether as a day or residential placement, please do get in touch to arrange a visit. This will help ensure that we are all agreed that we are the right place for your child, and we can then support you through the admissions process.
