Full Job Description

We have seven different houses, each with their own Nurse or House Manager. We support children with a brain injury and neurodisability who require rehabilitation or who need long term residential and educational support. Please find attached a document, which describes each individual house, helping you to visualise the envionrment we create.As a registered or an experienced Nurse you will provide an exemplary service to the children we care for and their families, leading a team in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of a 24-hour package of care.Reporting to the Deputy Nurse Manager, you will also:
  1. Be responsible for the one-to-ones and personal development reviews of named staff, as delegated by the Nurse Manager and prepare for these accordingly.
  2. Assist the Nurse Manager in the effective and efficient use of the bank system.
  3. Ensure the appropriate staffing levels and skills mix on a daily basis, reflecting the needs of the children and young people.
  4. Adhere to the relevant codes of conduct, providing high quality direct care and maintaining professional boundaries.
  5. Participate in the development and training of registered nurses, care staff and nursing students.
The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse, who's able to demonstrate:
  1. An assessing and mentoring qualification.
  2. Evidence of continuing professional development.
  3. IT skills - including competence with Microsoft Office packages.
  4. Strong communication skills - including the ability to communicate sensitive information in a professional manner and a recognition of the barriers to effective communication.
  5. An awareness of fundraising and marketing and the ability to articulate organisational objectives.
